11,005 yards, and counting: Jake Browning breaks all-time Husky passing mark

The Washington Huskies have never lacked for elite talent at the quarterback position. Think Mark Brunell. Marques Tuiasosopo. Sonny Sixkiller. Jake Locker. Warren Moon.

But no Husky has ever thrown for as many career passing yards as Jake Browning, Washington’s current star QB—who studies finance at the Foster School of Business. In the big win over BYU earlier in October, Browning’s nine-yard completion to Drew Sample eclipsed Cody Pickett’s previous mark of 10,220 yards. Eight games into his senior season, he stands at 11,005 yards passing overall.

Browning, the 2016 Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year and 2017 Academic All-Pac-12 selection, also owns the school’s all-time records for touchdown passes (he’s currently thrown 89) and total offense (11,200 career yards to date).

Later in the BYU game, Browning also notched his 100th touchdown overall, making him one of only six Pac-12 players to ever account for 100 or more TDs (passing and rushing) during a career.

The undergraduate program at the Foster School partners with Seattle’s thriving and innovative business community to develop forward-looking, customized cases centered on a current strategic issue. The result of this partnership is a capstone course, Strategic Business Management, taken during one quarter of senior year, which positions student teams in front of executives to make formal presentations on their recommendations.
