Studying in Korea & Context Culture

Guest Post By: Senior studying Finance, Aiyang Jiang. This Fall, Aiyang studied abroad with the Yonsei University exchange program.

I personally think the exchange program was a perfect opportunity to fully immerse myself in a completely new environment and culture. Yonsei University, one of the best Korean universities, is a very good representative that allows me to see how the Korean education system is like. One thing I found was interesting is that there are many differences in the way people complete group work between domestic and international students. The lifestyle of high context culture and low context culture sometimes could make me feel confused, but it is also where the program is challenging. Just a side information, soju culture here is very strong that people view it as a extremely good way to establish close relationship with others. Besides that, the wonderful view in Seoul and Busan could be another important reason to visit!
