So join us for Alaska Airlines Day, Wednesday, October 9, 2019, to celebrate this special friendship with a festive day of activities, panels, games, contest, photos, prizes, and Foster camaraderie!
#FosterFliesAlaska Instagram Photo Contest
October 2, 7am – October 9, 6pm
If there’s one thing that Foster and Alaska Airlines have in common, it’s that we both can really take you places. Studying abroad, interning for international companies, and fostering business ties across the world, our students and alum are seasoned globetrotters.
And Alaska Airlines wants to help one lucky winner really soar!
Between October 2–9, post to Instagram your favorite photos from your study abroad trip, global business experience, sightseeing travels, or from the Alaska Airlines Day Photo Booth located on in PACCAR Hall on October 9.
For contest entries to be considered, posters must follow and tag @UWFosterSchool and @AlaskaAir, and use the hashtag #FosterFliesAlaska — you’ll be entered to win the grand prize of a roundtrip ticket to anywhere Alaska Airlines flies!
Be sure to post your entry by 6pm on October 9! Winner will be announced via Instagram and the Foster blog by October 11, 2019.

Grab a donut and coffee and learn from recruiters as they share their experiences working with a world-class airline. Hear more about Alaska Airlines’ unique connection to Foster and its legacy support to marquee programs including the Buerk Center for Entrepreneurship’s annual Alaska Airlines Environmental Innovation Challenge. Don’t forget to sign up with Alaska’s Mileage Plan, check out Foster’s Global Business Center opportunities, and snap a fun photo for the #FosterFliesAlaska contest.
12:15 pm: Welcome & Paper Airplane Giveaway*

Please join Dean Hodge for a UW welcome Alaska Airlines executives. Following the welcome and opening remarks, be prepared to catch special giveaways during our airplane toss — including a grand prize of a roundtrip ticket anywhere Alaska Airlines flies! Paper airplanes take off at 12:20pm!
2:00 pm – 3:00 pm: Taking off with a Career in IT

3:30 pm – 5:00 pm: Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion at Alaska Airlines
Hosted in partnership with Undergraduate Diversity Services
Anthony’s Forum, 3rd Floor, Dempsey Hall
Join us for a conversation moderated by Undergraduate Diversity Services Director Andy Marzano and Alaska Airlines leaders who’ve designed and lead the company’s diversity, equity, and inclusion work. Alaska Airlines is intentional about building an inclusive and equitable workplace and has made it central to the way the company works. Learn how they did it, the successes they made, the challenges they faced, and what the future of DEI at Alaska Airlines looks like. Topics will include: building strong leadership capabilities, providing communication channels and platforms, connecting affinity groups, encouraging allyship, and infusing DEI into the Alaska Airlines culture. Following the panel and Q&A with audience, the event will continue with a short reception. Complimentary snacks and beverages provided by Alaska Airlines. Open to all. Register here.
