The Global Business Center is excited to announce our MBA Short-Term Study Abroad programs and MBA Immersions, occurring in March and June of 2022. WINTER QUARTER 2022 PROGRAMS

Come to Israel with Professor Tracey Seslen to better understand the Israeli model for business innovation and strategies for responsible, sustainable, and inclusionary business activities. Israel leads the world in terms of startups per capita and R&D investment as a fraction of GDP and has become one of the most sought-after locations for technology companies going global – amazing statistics for a water-starved, immigrant-heavy country of 8.5 million people that has existed for a mere 70 years.

Join Wendy Guild on a Study Tour to London, England. The goal of this study tour is to explore cutting edge practices in key industries and organizations, those that are driving our economy in the context of the fascinating changing political, regulatory, and cultural landscape of the UK. Company visits will include global financial firms, marketing consultancies, tech giants, and more. Cultural experiences will include a walking tour of London, a visit to the Royal Baths in Bath, and punting down the River Cam in Cambridge.

This course will explore the intersection of Race, Culture, and Business (RCB) through, in its first year, an exploration of the American South – with a focus on the historic and current experience of Black and Latinx Americans. Led by Professor Ed deHaan, and developed in collaboration with Project Pilgrimage and student representatives, this program is intended to provide students with a lens through which to evaluate business in the broader U.S. social structure, in which issues of race and culture are inherently central.

SPRING QUARTER ’22 PROGRAMS

Dates: Spring Quarter class + travel June 5-11, 2022 (departure on June 4)

Credits: 4 credits of IBUS 579, Spring ‘22

Join Professor Kevin Boeh for the 2022 Applied Global Consulting Project, based in Japan. This offering combines hands-on consulting projects with international collaboration. The ten week, 4-credit, Spring Quarter class (in Seattle) will have students working on real-world problems faced by Japanese companies. At the end of the course, participants present to their clients in person – in Tokyo!

Doing Business in Berlin

Dates: June 4-10, 2022 (departure on June 3)
Faculty: WHU’s Dr. Michael Frenkel and Dr. Dries Faems
Credits: 2 credits of IBUS 570, Spring‘22

Join the Global Business Center for a five-day academic deep dive into entrepreneurship in Europe, based in bustling Berlin, Germany. This 2-credit course will be hosted by the WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management, the top ranked business school in Germany. The program will include 3-hour morning class sessions, taught by Professor Michael Frenkel and Professor Dries Faems, of WHU. Afternoons will include case review and 2-3 company visits to Berlin start-ups. *Rescheduled from December*
