Charles Hill

Disruption, for lack of a better term, is good.

Amazon shaking up the retail status quo, Uber disturbing the taxicab market, cloud computing turning the software world inside-out.

It’s all essential to a healthy market economy, according to Charles Hill, a professor of management and organization, the Hughes M. and Katherine G. Blake Endowed Professor in Business Administration, and Faculty Director of the Executive MBA program at the Foster School. Hill is featured in today’s “Faculty Friday” profile on the Whole U blog.

In the piece, Hill discusses Microsoft’s and Amazon’s wise move to the cloud, and its repercussions on the larger Northwest economy. He also draws parallels between business and his lifelong love of competitive sailing.
