Explore the Intersection of Race, Culture, and Business in America with Foster & Sankofa Impact

 

RACE, CULTURE, AND BUSINESS MBA IMMERSION TO THE AMERICAN SOUTH 

Student Price: $2,000 (total program cost is $3,500; $1,500 is donor funded) 

Dates: March 13-21, 2023  

Leadership Team: Ed deHaan, Norah Fisher, and Sankofa Impact 

Credits: 2 credits of ACCTG 579 during Winter ’23 (required) 

This course explores race in America and will challenge your understanding of the roles of business in both perpetuating inequity and effecting change. Through pre-trip sessions and an immersive eight-day exploration of the American South that connects back to race, culture and business practices in the Pacific Northwest and nationally, this program will provide students with a lens through which to evaluate business in the broader U.S. social structure. This class and trip are co-led by Sankofa Impact, a Seattle-based nonprofit dedicated to confronting racism and resistance through place-based learning experiences, in partnership with the Foster School of Business and the Global Business Center
