Foster #1 of Businessweek’s top 20 MBA programs for job placement

In addition to moving into Businessweek’s elite top 20 Best Business Schools, the Foster School of Business rated #12 for employer satisfaction nationwide and #1 among the top 20 schools for job placement. Ranking #5 among public schools and #19 overall, the Foster School made a substantial leap from #37 in 2014.

In 2015, Businessweek changed its methodology to place greater weight on career results for MBA graduates. The Best Business School rankings previously measured current student opinion and employer opinion in addition to faculty research. Currently the rankings measure job placement, salary and alumni advancement in addition to employer and student opinion.

“Now that the Businessweek Best Business Schools place more emphasis on outcomes, the rankings align more closely with the Foster School’s goal to connect MBA graduates to outstanding career opportunities,” describes Naomi Sanchez, assistant dean, MBA Career Management.  A conduit for employers to recruit top talent, the Foster School ranked #12 of 87 schools for employer satisfaction, which also resulted in strong hiring numbers.  A total of 95.6% of 2015 alumni were employed within three months of graduation, with the majority securing high-demand jobs in consulting, technology, consumer products and financial sectors.

Foster MBA alumni also carry the lightest debt of the top 20 ranked schools. When average debt reached more than $120,000 at several top MBA programs, Foster graduates started at competitive salaries with an average debt of only $45,000.
