Foster Goes Test Optional, Opens Application for Admission to Full-Time MBA Autumn 2022 Entry

The Michael G. Foster School of Business at the University of Washington has announced that standardized tests are now optional for application to the Foster Full-Time MBA Program, Autumn 2022 entry.

Any applicant who is able to demonstrate strong quantitative skills through their prior academic work and/or recent professional experiences may apply for admission to the Full-Time MBA Autumn 2022 entry without a standardized test score (GMAT or GRE). International applicants are still strongly encouraged to submit a valid standardized test score as part of the application process given the competitiveness of the international applicant pool.

“The Foster School has a long and successful history of using a holistic admissions process to evaluate the contribution of each applicant to our community, and the test optional process now gives applicants the flexibility to decide what set of information makes their most compelling case for membership in the Foster community,” offered Associate Dean of Master’s Programs Dan Turner. “We continue to seek applicants who share our values around inclusivity, community, and the power of business for good, and we are excited about the opportunity to experiment with a test optional policy to attract a broad range of applicants for whom standardized testing might otherwise present a significant barrier.”

Candidate Selection Criteria Remain Consistent

The Foster School’s traditional admissions criteria dimensions remain unchanged. The Foster School seeks prospective Full-Time MBA students who have demonstrated the capacity for high-quality academic work, who possess strong quantitative, analytic, and communications skills, who have demonstrated progressively responsible career experience, and who will contribute positively to the community.

Foster is a proud member of The Consortium for Graduate Study in Management, Forté, ROMBA, and Management Leadership for Tomorrow. The evidence-based finding that there is strength inherent in our differences is a fundamental value of the Foster community, and the Foster community seeks applications from a diverse set of aspiring leaders desiring to elevate the impact of their ideas on the world.

STEM Designated Option Available

The Foster School continues to offer a STEM designated MBA (Management Science) Degree Option, a credential that students may earn in the standard 2-year MBA degree pathway with careful selection of elective options. The MBA (Management Science) Degree Option, complementing the Foster School’s active, inclusive, experiential learning programs in core courses, may be layered on top of specializations, certificates, and concurrent degree options offered across the University of Washington’s world-class campus.

Three Admissions Rounds for Autumn 2022 entry

The application is now open and the Foster School will offer three admissions rounds for applicants to the Full-Time MBA Autumn 2022 entry with deadlines on October 5, 2021, January 4, 2022 (last deadline for international applicants), and March 15, 2022.
