In winter and spring quarters, GEMBA students take part in a business consulting project. This is a real-world application of the concepts they have studied so far at the Foster School of Business.
There are many benefits to this type of experience. According to Zhanpeng Sun (China), the consulting project gave him a chance to learn from the employees of his client, Starbucks, why that company is so successful. Zhanpeng and his teammates also learned how to resolve challenges in an industry different from the ones in which they were already accustomed to working.
Senthil Prabhu Palaniswamy (India) says that he learned a lot during his consulting project with Microsoft, about technology sector trends, as well as what level of competitiveness is needed to succeed in the technology field.
