Husky Sales Club is off to a fantastic start with their kick-off event

Tuesday, October 6th, The Foster Professional Sales Program in conjunction with the Husky Sales Club brought together 80 students and 40 corporate and sales executives from sponsoring organizations at their kick-off “Meet & Mingle” event.

The goal of the event was to introduce sponsors of the Foster Professional Sales Program to exceptional UW students interested in sales. The event was deemed a huge success from students and sponsors alike.
The sponsoring attendees represented companies ranging from small local business to global firms including: Amazon, Frito Lay, Medallia, TEKsystems, Docusign, PepsiCo, Zones, Liberty Mutual Insurance, Northwestern Mutual, Palo Alto Networks, Pacific Resource Group, Boston Scientific, Laird Plastics, Altria, King 5, QBSI-Xerox, and Tableau.

Presenters included The Foster Professional Sales Program’s Assistant Director and Director Rick Carter and Jack Rhodes, Husky Sales Club President and Director of Operations Spencer Toms and David Gilluly, and managing partner of Northwestern Mutual, Eric Aslakson.
Keynote speaker, Eric Aslakson, spoke on professional networking and the value at any age of being a student of success. Eric explained that good companies are always interviewing even in network settings, effective networking requires strategic planning, and the importance of a diverse network.
The Meet & Mingle commenced and concluded with a networking reception held in the Husky Union Building. Husky Sales Club will meet for it’s regular speaker series every Tuesday at 6 p.m. in Paccar 294. Join us this Tuesday, October 20th for a resume workshop with senior recruiters from Seattle Corporate Search.
