Introducing Parag Gheewala as a Mentor for the Master of Science in Entrepreneurship Program

The Master of Science in Entrepreneurship is Foster’s new 12-month degree that embodies the startup process — from ideation and formation to execution and scale. It blends the best of business school education, practical content, world-class Seattle connections, and time in the program for students to get their startup off the ground. Our goal for students: turn that spark into reality.

I mentor student entrepreneurs because I have an entrepreneurial mindset, I love teaching, and I am passionate about personal growth and development.

As a mentor, I excel at…

Legal: intellectual property & technology licensing, strategic alliances (see bio at WSGR.com);
leadership and management: organizational culture, motivation, team building;
talent management: recruiting, retention, mentoring, talent development;
developing training programs; stress management.

Don’t ask me about…

Ask me anything. If I don’t know the answer, I probably know someone that does or know a good place to start.

The one thing people should know about me is…

I will always have an opinion, propose a solution, and think something can be improved. I am the wrong person to speak to if you just want support or validation.

My favorite entrepreneurial book, blog, podcast is…

The Netflix Culture Deck.

When I have free time, I…

I would be surfing if we had waves in Seattle. I make do with many other hobbies, including fantasy football, following my sports teams, and reading about technology and personal development.

I manage everyday stress by…

I am an introvert, so I make sure I have time to myself to recharge. I also try to make sure that I do everything deliberately and intentionally (don’t let inertia take control).

If I’m going out to dinner, I’ll generally order…

A salad with protein even though I crave something deep fried.

As a kid, I was fascinated by…

Technology and sports.

As an adult, I’m fascinated by…

Still technology and sports, but also data science and personal growth and development.

The person I admire most is…

Pete Carroll.

I describe myself as…

Life-long learner, persevering, problem-solver, entrepreneurial, innovative.

My motto/tagline is…

The one each of my team members will never forget: “We don’t meet deadlines, we beat deadlines.”

I seek BLIS: Build-Learn-Improve-Solve
