MSIS International Study Tour: A Can’t-Miss Student and Alumni Experience
The MSIS Study Tour is a fast-paced experience that provides insights into the opportunities and challenges faced by information systems professionals operating in a global environment and highlights the business skills necessary to succeed in an increasingly global economy. Participants experience business and culture first-hand through personal meetings with executives and senior managers, company visits, and cultural excursions. The tour commonly includes company visits to multinational, local, start-up, and governmental organizations.
The tour is a 9-10 day immersive experience held during the University of Washington spring quarter break and both current students and alumni are encouraged to attend each year. It is an incredible opportunity to bridge the gap between in-class learning and real-world experiences – but don’t just take our word for it!
As we prepare for this year’s tour, we are seeking feedback on destinations:

Student Testimonials

Ben Hou, MSIS Class of 2017
The MSIS Study Tour is a fantastic opportunity. Through participating in cultural activities, exploring new places, and meeting with local tech leadership, students are given the time and space to challenge their assumptions, experience exciting events, and combine new understandings with coursework to enrich their skills. One of the most impactful takeaways is the chance to practice and cultivate skills in communicating with senior organizational leaders.

Kwame Opoku, MSIS Class of 2022
For the first time, I interacted with business professionals on a global scale, expanding my network internationally. Maintaining a relationship with the connections I made in Singapore will help me grow professionally and open doors to opportunities, advice, and insights.

Abhishek Sharma, MSIS Class of 2019
I would have never been able to do a trip like this on my own. It was mind blowing. We came together as classmates, as professionals, and as individuals. I had the chance to explore these new cities with what grew to be a close circle of friends.
