MSIS Takes On Dawg Dash 2018

Each year the Master of Science in Information Systems Program community takes on the Alaska Airlines Dawg Dash during UW Homecoming week. This year, the Foster MSIS Team was its biggest yet with over 60 people!

The team of MSIS students, alumni, friends, and family, began to prepare for the Dawg Dash in early August as they kicked off an 8-week 5K and 10K training plan.

Led by a local fitness trainer, members of the MSIS community came together every Thursday evening before the big race to run off some steam around the beautiful South Lake Union.  From former marathoners, to running newbies, the group was a way to not just get exercise, but connect outside of the classroom and create an even tighter community.

A few months later race day arrived and the MSIS team gathered bright and early in Red Square to celebrate with pre-race festivities and offer words of encouragement before parting ways to finally run the race they had been training for.

Post-run the team met again in Paccar Hall to celebrate with their own Post-Dash Bash. The energy was vibrant as students and alums reconnected over a waffle bar, donuts, coffee, and a fun photo booth.

MSIS students and alumni said that this year’s Dash would be hard to beat, but we look forward to running again next year!  Will you join us? MSIS applications are now open!
