Neal Dempsey co-teaching CEO & Board Leadership course

This spring quarter, Neal Dempsey–seasoned Silicon Valley venture capitalist–will be co-teaching the CEO and Board Leadership course (MGMT 550) with Neil McReynolds at the Foster School of Business.

Neal is a regular speaker, author, and a newly appointed lecturer at the University of Washington. His love of mentoring young entrepreneurs led him to establish the Neal’s Running Start program, which brings entrepreneurs from around the world to Silicon Valley for an intensive mentorship program with Neal and his cadre of accomplished friends.

The CEO & Board Leadership course provides an insider’s view of corporate governance and is designed to prepare students to be effective board members and to work productively with boards as executives. The course places an emphasis on board effectiveness in creating value through oversight and strategic leadership within organizations regardless of size and form of business.

Students will explore boardroom successes and failures with 18 prominent CEOs and board members who are shaping the energy, entertainment, retail, and technology sectors.
