Sarah Ma – Eddie Bauer

The summer after my 3rd year of college, I took an internship with Eddie Bauer, an outdoor gear and apparel retailer headquartered in Bellevue, Washington. The internship was an intense 9 weeks of research, creative product development, and cross-functional collaboration. At the end of our 9 weeks, our team of 3 interns presented the results of our project to the entire company, including the senior management team.

I’ve been so grateful and proud to have the Igniter Internship on my resume. We spearheaded our projects from ideation to implementation. The exposure and depth of my experience at Eddie Bauer helped me start senior year with business acumen heads and tails above my state at the start of summer. Life-changing and rewarding don’t even begin to describe my time as an Igniter.

The working environment is amazing – Eddie Bauer designs all their products in-house, and their headquarters in Bellevue is a beautiful, modern design. The culture is all about being active in all aspects of life, and there are activities like yoga, volunteering, hiking, and SUP that keep your working summer balanced and fun.

Did I mention I worked with some really cool people? I cannot emphasize the PASSIONATE character of EB employees enough – this is a group of people who do what they love, and love what they do.
