Seattle Growth Podcast 3.1: the human impact of the city’s transformation

As people and money flow into Seattle like never before, the city is undergoing a massive physical transformation. Building projects proliferate in every neighborhood; the multitude of construction cranes rising above them has led the nation for two years running.

But as this proliferation of construction projects reshapes the city’s profile, many lives are being changed in the process.

Season three of the Seattle Growth Podcast kicks off with an exploration of the city’s material transformation, and its effects on Seattleites—old and new.

Two residents impacted by the changing face of Seattle share their stories. Kailash Upadhyay is a business owner whose building was redeveloped. Queen Pearl Richard is a long-time Seattle resident who has witnessed the buildings and businesses change around her. And Ethan Phelps-Goodman, developer of the construction project-tracking site seattleinprogress.com, explains how you can learn about and influence further development in the city.
