Seattle Growth Podcast Special Episode: City Council weighs new proposal for SODO arena
On February 8th, the investment group led by Chris Hansen submitted a new proposal to build an arena in the Sodo neighborhood, with the intent of bringing NBA basketball back to Seattle. The group’s original request for the vacation of a block of Occidental Avenue South was turned down by City Council. This new proposal promises 100 percent private funding, a joint scheduling agreement, and the condition that the vacation will be valid only if a team is secured.
