Study Abroad Changes Your Perspective

Guest Post By: Edrees Sidiqi, a Fifth Year studying Accounting. He is a Global Business Center Study Abroad Scholarship Recipient, and he studied abroad through a Foster Exchange and Direct Enroll at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy, during Autumn Semester 2022.

I was excited about going to Italy and making friends at Bocconi. However, my experience was more than just Milan and people I met at school. I got to travel to more than ten countries and more than twenty cities. I met people from all over the world. Locals, other travels, students from other schools and countries.

Although I mostly traveled with other students from Bocconi, I also learned that I can have so much fun solo traveling. I traveled to Lisbon and London solo and met so many people while staying in a local hostel. We did everything together and became lifetime friends.

PS: don’t be afraid to take the initiative and say ‘hi’. Trust me, travelers always look forward to making new friends 🙂
