Why Foster?: I was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA and I wanted to get an out-of-state college experience. I saw University of Washington’s appeal with its large student body, however, I felt a bit hesitant since I was transitioning from a small private high school. This is why I chose Foster. The Foster School of Business provided a supportive community from day one with its major-specific resources, small class sizes, and invaluable staff.

Over Summer Break I…was a Student Mentor for underserved high-achieving rising eighth graders from the Pacoima and Panorama City areas. The Summer Enrichment Pilot Program at Campbell Hall School in North Hollywood, CA allowed me to develop my leadership skills and contribute to the close of the achievement gap.

After graduation,  I plan to…move back to Los Angeles, CA and work in a position that allows me to combine my passions for forming relationships with people and using technology to increase efficiency in personal and professional lives.

Advice to future students: Ask for help when you need it! Professors and TA’s want you to understand difficult material and will set aside time in their day to figure out how you can overcome any academic challenges you face.

Favorite place to study: Ugly Mug Cafe on the Ave. is my favorite place to study during the day. I am definitely a morning person and this place has the best local coffee and pastries to get me through midterms!

Favorite place to eat on the Ave:Shawarma King has the best gyros and shawarmas on the Ave. They’re open until the early morning and have 4.5 stars on Yelp so you know it’s a winner!
