Who I am x What I do: How do my passions and identities shape my career?

Korion Morris graduated from the UW Foster School of Business with a Master’s degree in entrepreneurship in 2018. He founded his latest company, Axis Brands, in January 2020 and continues to work on this venture while in his current role of Business Development Manager at Zulily. A student athlete during his undergraduate studies at the University of Arizona, Morris also served as President of the NCAA Student Athlete Advisory Committee.

Michaela Nelson graduated from the University of Washington in 2020 with a degree in public health and a minor in diversity. She was also a member of the UW Gymnastics team. She currently serves as a development coordinator at a grassroots nonprofit helping to grow strategic partnerships and expand civic engagement in the Black community. During her time with UW Athletics, Michaela co-founded the UW Black Student-Athlete Alliance (BSAA) and served as the Washington Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (WSAAC) President.

Jaylen Willingham is a multiracial first-generation UW Alumnus from Federal Way, Washington. Combining his local roots with his background in a variety of subjects, Jaylen’s time at the UW helped prepare him to handle multiple simultaneous jobs while establishing his own business in 2020. Jaylen has been considered a jack of all trades and is evidence that following a traditional path is not always what it’s cut out to be. Hear about what worked best for him in establishing confidence in his career choices while at the UW and navigating his time beyond.
