Why Foster?: When I decided to transfer schools I wanted an environment that was encouraging and where the students and faculty built meaningful relationships- and that’s exactly what I’ve found at Foster. Everyone at Foster is dedicated to helping you find success during and after your time at UW, and the resources you’re provided with are unmatched.
Over Summer Break I…am working as an accounting and finance intern at Columbia Pacific Advisors, an investment firm located in Seattle. I also had the opportunity to travel to Boston and participate in Liberty Mutual Insurance’s Leadership Forum.
After graduation, I plan to…I plan to obtain my CPA license and work in public accounting for a while. After that I hope to transition into forensic accounting and work for the FBI.
Advice to future students: Get involved! Regardless of if it’s something that’s related to your major, or even academic, getting involved is so important. When you leave UW in four years you wont remember your time in the classroom, but rather the people you met and the experiences you had, so join clubs and organizations that will make your time here meaningful. It can even help you discover a passion you didn’t know you had!
Favorite place to study: The Engineering Library is great. It’s a bit of a walk from Foster, but it’s always very quiet and easy to focus in.
Favorite place to eat on the Ave: Best of Bento has great sushi. I also love going to Café on the Ave when I’m in the mood for a sandwich or burger.
