Justin Marlowe, the Endowed Professor of Public Finance and Civic Engagement at the UW’s Evans School of Public Policy and Governance, discusses his headline-making study on the budgetary effect of the city’s arena choice. Marlowe’s analysis suggests that constructing a new arena in Seattle’s SoDo neighborhood could generate $67 million more revenue for the city’s general fund than a competing proposal to renovate Key Arena.
