TransDigm Ensures Access to Education and Promotes Diversity in Aerospace with Doug Peacock Scholarships
TransDigm Group Inc, a leading global producer, designer and supplier of highly engineered aerospace components, systems and subsystems, is committed to reducing barriers for traditionally underrepresented students in the aerospace industry.
With the Doug Peacock Scholarship Fund, the company is partnering with the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business and College of Engineering to provide scholarship support for undergraduate students representing the first in their family to attend college, who come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, and/or who are traditionally underrepresented in STEM fields.
The scholarship is named for founding CEO Doug Peacock whose extraordinary leadership resulted in TransDigm becoming one of the largest publicly traded aerospace companies in North America. He recognized the value of different perspectives and fields of study being combined to produce something unique and transformational.

This is an important initiative for TransDigm and we are honored to contribute through the Doug Peacock Scholarship Program.”
TransDigm currently has six Peacock Scholars at the UW evenly split between the Foster School and the College of Engineering. The scholarship will stay with the student for the entirety of their business or engineering undergraduate experience.
Dean Hodge states, “At the Foster School we strive each and every day to inspire and educate students to go out and make meaningful contributions to their communities. With TransDigm’s wonderful support and working closely with our partners in the College of Engineering the Peacock Scholarships will allow us to do just that, to work together to create futures for very deserving students.”
Dean Allbritton, states, “I am extremely grateful to TransDigm for their commitment to supporting our students through the Doug Peacock Scholarship Fund. The College of Engineering has enjoyed research collaborations with Seattle based subsidiaries of TransDigm and looks forward to exploring further opportunities. It is heartening to see TransDigm come through for our students to expand access to engineering and business education.
By 2024 the Doug Peacock Scholarship Fund projects to provide 90 student awards in total and will have created an exciting cohort among Peacock Scholars at the UW.
