Financial Times ranks Foster #1 in U.S. for MBA jobs, #6 in world for research

The Financial Times 2020 Global MBA Rankings rate business schools’ success in job placement, earnings, and faculty research—all measures where the UW Foster School performs among the world’s top universities. The Foster Full-time MBA Program placed among the elite U.S. schools, ranking #26 in the nation, #9 of public schools, and #1 in the Northwest region.

#1 U.S. school for MBA employment

Of only 150 top business schools eligible worldwide, 100 were ranked by The Financial Times (FT) and of those, 51 of the top schools are in the United States. Among that competitive set, Foster ranked #1 with a 99% job placement rate. Foster MBAs secured positions primarily in technology, consulting, financial services, and manufacturing firms, earning an average salary and bonus of $151,581. According to Financial Times, 2019 MBA grads earnings’ increased an average of $9,179 over the previous year’s earnings.

Strong ROI

Ranked #21 among two-year programs in the U.S. that deliver high value for the money, Foster was one of just 5 programs in that set where alumni earned more than $140,000 in salary. Graduates reported increases of more than 109% compared to their pre-MBA earnings.

Foster faculty continue to lead influential research, ranking #1 among public universities and moving up 1 spot to rank #6 worldwide. For articles published in 50 top academic journals, Foster faculty were more productive per capita than their counterparts at UC Berkeley, Michigan, Northwestern, and Yale.

Studying with some of the world’s top scholars resulted in students’ high marks for academic disciplines, especially finance, entrepreneurship, accounting, marketing and statistics/quantitative methods.
