Adventures Across Europe

Guest Post By: Faith Bae, a Junior studying Marketing and Information Systems. A Global Business Center Study Abroad Scholarship Recipient, she participated in an exchange program at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy, during Spring Semester 2022.

Though Milan isn’t known for having many tourist attractions it is a great place to travel out of. Being the only international city in Italy and located in a central location relative to the rest of Europe flights are cheap and short. Most of my weekends have been filled with a new adventure to a new city and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

In the span of the past 4 months, I’ve been able to travel all throughout Europe on cheap Ryanair flights exploring different cities and cultures with all my friends. This experience has truly been so impactful and it one you can only get studying abroad. I can always go back to Europe, but it will never be the same as being in a community of broke college students who want to explore the world just as much as you do.

So far, I’ve hit cities in Italy, France, Spain, Greece, England, Switzerland, and Malta and each experience has added new perspectives and value building memories. It has been so interesting to see the differences in people, food, and cultures in every city. Being able to see such a vast number of cultures firsthand has allowed me to expand my knowledge and understandings in a way a classroom never could.
