CISB offers taste of being a citizen of the world
Tiffany Tarjoto grew up in the great Pacific Northwest. She graduated from the UW Foster School of Business with a BABA, marketing option, in 2008 and currently works as a real estate broker at Coldwell Banker Bain. As a Foster School student she also earned a Certificate of International Studies in Business. In her spare time she enjoys golfing, paddle boarding, and composing music. She shared with us how the CISB program has impacted her career.
How did your CISB experience help you in your career?
CISB gave me the opportunity to work with people from around the world. It has taught me how to deal with international clients in business and how to adapt to myriad traditions and customs. In CISB, you get a taste of being a citizen of the world. I have always enjoyed interacting with companies and firms worldwide, and CISB was the stepping stone into that gateway of international admission.
What are a few highlights from your study abroad experience?
My fondest memories from studying abroad in Sevilla, Spain are the adventures I had exploring the city through my program. From making gazpacho with my señora to siestas to walking miles a day to and from school, I was able to integrate myself into the culture. Having to communicate with locals in Spanish on a daily basis allowed me to become fluent in another language. I was fully immersed in the Spanish lifestyle and loved every moment of it.
What are your career plans?
I plan to maintain an international presence in my career. I like to work with companies that engage in global networking and challenge the limits of risk-taking. I am always looking for new, exciting projects to take on because the opportunities to learn and gain knowledge are endless.
