Two new seminars have just been added to line-up.
The Climate Change Certificate Program helps businesses address climate change head-on and explores ways to adapt and incorporate its effects into their strategy. Participants will learn from a wide variety of ESG experts from University of Washington and corporate leaders to gain knowledge of regulatory requirements and reporting, insights into ways that other organizations are taking action, a better understanding of how climate change intersects with social justice issues, and concrete next steps toward formulating a strategy to take positive action. The course is a mix of live online and in-person class sessions at the UW Seattle campus. The program will benefit those working in roles within companies or as consultants to help organizations on climate impact as well as those who may not be directly responsible for sustainability efforts but play an integral role as a core member of the organization. The Beyond Corporate Boards: Women Building Impact & Influence seminar on September 22, 2023 offers an overview of investment options such as angel funding, venture capital, private equity, special interest acquisition corporations, as well as the potential benefits of investing your time and experience to take on an early-stage company leadership role. Participants will also learn ways to make an impact through advising, consulting, and strategic philanthropy. The seminar features the same high caliber speakers from the Puget Sound business community that the Women Board Directors Development Program is known for and is offered as a continuation of that program or as a stand-alone seminar. The seminar will be held on the UW Seattle campus and is open to all genders. Register by September 8, 2023, to attend.
