Foster School of Business Welcomes Inaugural Hybrid MBA Program Cohort to Campus
The Foster School of Business was delighted to welcome the first Hybrid MBA Program cohort to campus for the first time, September 2017. Forty-seven students from all over the U.S. came to campus Wednesday to:
- Meet one another in person
- Get familiar with all the resources available to Foster School students
- Develop their study team contracts and get to know each other’s communication styles
- Dive into the first quarter’s curricula
The Hybrid MBA Program begins each quarter on campus for a 3 to 5 day in-person immersion. This is the perfect way to start each quarter because Hybrid MBA students get the chance to develop a personal working-relationship with each of their quarter faculty before returning home to complete coursework online. It is also an opportunity for the Hybrid MBA study teams to discuss their plan of attack for a successful academic quarter together.
On day one, the Hybrid MBA student teams were thrust in a competitive scavenger hunt throughout campus to familiarize themselves with UW and learn about the various student resources and benefits they have access to. Student teams received points for posing for pictures at specific UW landmarks. Here are just some of the images they submitted mid-hunt.
The inaugural cohort is comprised of 47 high-caliber students form a wide range of backgrounds and industries. Take a look at the overall class profile:
Average years professional work experience: 10 years
Average GMAT score: 608
62% male, 38% female
32% hold advanced degrees
26% have lived or worked overseas

The first day came to a beautiful conclusion at a private event at Palisade Restaurant on Elliott Bay where Hybrid MBA students, program staff, faculty and T.A.s celebrated the successful launch of the Inaugural Hybrid MBA Class!
