Undergraduate Student Ambassador: Austin Kelley

Name: Austin Kelley

Major: Finance, Operations & Supply Chain Management

Hometown: Puyallup

Activities: Foster Instructional Media, Makerspace, UW Climbing

Why Foster?: The Foster School of Business provides the perfect mix of intellectual challenges, community, and a variety of coursework.

Over Summer Break I…enrolled in Summer Quarter courses while working part-time in IT.

After graduation,  I plan to… to work with innovative, crazy-cool people and use technology to help businesses succeed.

Advice to future students: Don’t be afraid to seek out others for help. Go to office hours. Build lasting relationships with your peers. Take advantage of all Foster has to offer and enjoy the ride.

Favorite place to study: Suzzallo Library has some great nooks for studying. If I’m looking for creative inspiration, I head upstairs to the Reading Room.

Favorite place to eat on the Ave: Hawaiian BBQ

About the Undergraduate Program

The Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration builds foundational knowledge of business which students enhance with specialization in the fields of accounting, entrepreneurship, finance, human resources, information systems, international business, marketing, and operations/supply chain management. In the classroom and out, students learn strategic approaches to working on and leading teams, practice critical thinking and analysis while cementing theoretical knowledge, and acquire work experience through internships.

Undergraduate Strategy Development Competition

The undergraduate program at the Foster School partners with Seattle’s thriving and innovative business community to develop forward-looking, customized cases centered on a current strategic issue. The result of this partnership is a capstone course, Strategic Business Management, taken during one quarter of senior year, which positions student teams in front of executives to make formal presentations on their recommendations.
