UW ranks #15 in world, #24 for business in Academic Ranking of World Universities

The 2016 Academic Ranking of World Universities released its list of the top schools in the world, and the University of Washington continued at #15 among the most elite universities. UW ranked #24 worldwide for business and economics, up from #33 in the most recent ranking.

The 2016 Academic Ranking of World Universities, conducted by researchers at the Center for World-Class Universities of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, measures school performance based on academic research productivity and citations as well as major prizes won by faculty, staff and alumni. For the percentage of papers published in top journals, Foster and the UW rated a 93.3 out of 100.

After climbing from #16 to #15 in 2014, the UW maintained what remains its highest ranking since the ARWU began releasing them in 2003. The UW has held a position in the world’s top 20 since the inaugural year.
