MBA candidates can now include Businessweek’s top-rated schools for networking and learning experience as part of their best-fit ranking in the Foster MBA Rankings Calculator. Businessweek added the new metrics to its recent Best Business Schools ranking replacing employer opinion and alumni advancement.
The MBA Rankings Calculator empowers potential applicants to find the top 30 Full-time MBA programs in the U.S. that best match their priorities. The free tool leverages the most recent data from U.S. News & World Report, Bloomberg Businessweek, The Financial Times, and Forbes, including salary and placement, student selectivity, faculty research, low average debt, and return on investment.
A custom ranking based on metrics that matter to applicants
The tool was developed in consultation with MBA students and prospects and improved with input from some of the calculator’s 35,000 users. Applicants can weight each metric individually by distributing 100 points across up to 10 metrics. Based on the results, candidates can fine-tune their formula to develop an optimal list of schools.
More than just a ranking, the calculator provides a dashboard of key performance metrics for each program, such as salary and bonus, employment rate, average GMAT, tuition and fees and average debt.
Helping MBA candidates find their fit
This personalized approach mirrors the Foster School’s admissions philosophy—to help MBA applicants identify programs that best fit their goals and aspirations.
“Obviously, we urge MBA candidates to always consider the culture, the community, the location, the student services, program performance and other areas that matter to them when choosing an MBA program,” said Dan Poston, assistant dean of master’s programs at the Foster School. “But we know for nearly all candidates the rankings are a consideration. Not only does this tool help them filter data from multiple rankings to see the results that that are most important to them…it’s just fun to explore how school rankings change based on different priorities.”
